Position Description:
Without the strength of the accounting team here at Oxbow PLC , we wouldn’t be able to offer the industry-leading services we’re known for. We’re seeking an experienced controller to oversee this high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in our industry, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Objectives of this role
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organizational budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity

Qualifications & Skills:
- Competence with financial software and technology used in the construction industry (experience with Foundation Construction Accounting Software is desirable).
- Understanding of financial and accounting standards and regulations
- Working knowledge of financial and project accounting used in the construction industry
- Understanding of construction company financial management practices
- Minimum 4-year degree in accounting
- Minimum 5 years of accounting management experience in the construction industry
- Organizational and time management skills
- Leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of the senior management team
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize duties,
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and juggle multiple duties,

Physical Demands Requirements
This job mainly operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role, however, some travel is required. This would require the ability to enter, travel in, and exit vehicles and airplanes.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
