Position Overview
Coastline Equipment is seeking a highly motivated Rental Developer to join our team at the Bakersfield branch. The Rental Developer will play an integral role in enhancing customer relations, promoting rental services, and ensuring the efficient logistics of equipment rentals. This individual will act as a product and application expert, supporting both customer acquisition and retention. By focusing on timely follow-up, market intelligence, and internal collaboration, the Rental Developer will contribute significantly to Coastline Equipment's growth and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain personal contact with current and potential rental customers, ensuring daily follow-ups on rentals and fostering strong relationships.
- Product Expertise: Serve as a product and application expert for customers, offering valuable insights into equipment usage and solutions.
- Policy Adherence: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of department policies and procedures, ensuring compliance in all rental transactions.
- Logistics Management: Oversee the timely pick-up and delivery of rental equipment, ensuring regular inspections and maintaining equipment readiness.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate customer call lists, provide detailed call reports, and support daily administrative tasks.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends and provide timely market intelligence on competitor activities and rental market dynamics.
Required Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with John Deere equipment and its competitors in the rental space.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Performance Under Pressure: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, while maintaining high levels of customer service and accuracy.
- Team Collaboration: Cooperative attitude, working well across departments to meet customer and company needs.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using computers and various software programs, including office equipment and CRM systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely climb on and off machinery, lift at least 50 pounds, and operate a forklift.
Physical Requirements
- Driving: Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening are required.
- Physical Conditions: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Location: Based at Coastline Equipment’s Bakersfield branch, with occasional travel required for customer visits and equipment logistics.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be available for flexible scheduling, including the possibility of occasional weekend work.
