The Painter is responsible for all aspects of paint and coatings applications, Experience in the following areas is preferred; general painting, operation of conventional spray gun, airless sprayer, HVLP sprayer; experience with color matching; working knowledge of paint products and their application in painting,
 
  • Paints various props: wood graining, aging, textures) to match existing surfaces.
    Performs layout, sculpting, theming and painting of various props from Artist direction and/or conceptual drawings.
    •Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
    • Prepares surfaces for painting; using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch.
    • Preps and paints new surfaces for new construction and remodels; Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking gun and putty knife.
    DSpecialized painting and Faux Techniques, new work and touch upSelects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
    Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
    Automotive finish level on cabinets and other applications, HVLP or Spray Gun
    Equipment cleaning, care and maintenance.
    Requirements
    Ability to color match and mix paints and varnishes for new and existing finishes
    Ability to apply finishes to a wide variety of surfaces
    Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used within the field. 
    • Advanced knowledge of commercial/industrial & show quality practices and processes of the painting trade, paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers, and related materials, and of their properties and application. 
    •Knowledge of Mathews Paint System
    •Ability & willingness to work a variety of schedules, overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
