The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is a dedicated, people-first talent acquisition expert with a servant mentality, committed to identifying and connecting with top talent for both construction and skilled trade positions. With a never-give-up attitude and a positive mindset, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist tackles even the toughest hiring challenges. They proactively seek out candidates using innovative techniques, leveraging networks, social platforms, industry connections, and cutting-edge sourcing tools to uncover hidden talent. This role partners closely with recruiters and hiring managers to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified candidates, constantly refining strategies to meet evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Comprehensive Sourcing Strategy:

  1. Data-Driven Candidate Sourcing:
    • Utilize advanced data mining techniques to identify potential candidates across all organizational roles, including corporate positions and skilled trades (e.g., welding, pipefitting, plumbing, service & maintenance).
    • Leverage AI-driven tools and platforms to enhance sourcing efficiency and broaden the talent pool.
    • Continuously analyze sourcing data to refine strategies and improve candidate quality.
  2. Innovative Sourcing Methods:
    • Employ creative sourcing strategies, including UKG, online databases, social media outreach, industry-specific forums, and job fairs, to attract top talent.
    • Develop and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive engagement and relationship building.
    • Stay abreast of emerging sourcing channels and technologies to maintain a competitive edge in talent acquisition.
  3. Networking and Relationship Building:
    • Establish and nurture relationships with industry professionals, trade associations, and educational institutions to create a robust referral network.
    • Collaborate with career services and faculty members at relevant institutions to gain student referrals and access emerging talent.
    • Attend industry events, conferences, and career fairs to represent the organization and attract potential candidates.

Candidate Assessment and Engagement:

  1. Comprehensive Candidate Evaluation:
    • Work closely with hiring managers to understand specific staffing needs, role requirements, and team dynamics.
    • Assess candidates' skills and experience for both corporate and trade roles to ensure they meet job requirements.
    • Upload all sourced candidates into UKG and coordinate with recruiters to ensure timely follow-up.

Continuous Improvement:

  1. Process Optimization and Feedback Integration:
    • Streamline the sourcing and recruitment process to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-fill metrics.
    • Gather feedback from hiring managers and recruiters to identify areas for improvement in the sourcing strategy.
    • Implement changes based on feedback to continuously improve the effectiveness of sourcing efforts.
  2. Sourcing Strategy Enhancement:
    • Regularly review and refine sourcing strategies to align with organizational goals and market conditions.
    • Explore and implement new sourcing channels, tools, and technologies to improve candidate reach and engagement.
    • Measure the effectiveness of different sourcing methods and adjust approaches based on data-driven insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in talent sourcing, recruitment, or a related field, preferably with experience in both corporate and skilled trade hiring.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing tools, including ATS platforms (e.g., UKG), LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, and AI-driven sourcing technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Highly adaptable and resilient, with a solutions-focused approach to sourcing challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and optimize sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
