Job Opportunity: Full-Time Installer/Laborer

Garrett Electric is a leader in the industrial electric arena, and we are seeking a skilled and versatile Installer/Laborer to join our esteemed team. This full-time position is ideal for a professional with experience in metal fabrication, installation, and painting who is looking to contribute to high-quality projects in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Efficiently position, align, and install metal structures and components, including custom frameworks and support systems. Operate forklifts and other lifting apparatus to handle materials and finished products with precision.
  • Painting: Prepare metal surfaces for painting, apply coatings, and ensure high-quality finishes are achieved. Maintain strict attention to detail throughout the painting process.
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate fabricating machines to perform tasks such as bending, cutting, punching, drilling, and assembling metal components.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine material needs and task sequences accurately.
  • Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety and efficiency standards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication, installation, and painting.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, fabricating machines, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus but not required).
  • Experienced in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
  • Work from elevated heights, using aerial lifts, scaffolding, and ladders as necessary.
  • Strong manual dexterity, critical thinking skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret technical documents accurately.
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Prior experience in construction is advantageous; carpentry and painting skills are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customer projects, including potential work with specialized rack and electrical support systems.
