About Us: STRATA has been a trusted provider of geotechnical engineering consulting, construction inspection, and material testing (CMT) services in the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West for 50 years. We are currently seeking a Senior Laboratory Professional to join our team in Spokane, WA.
Position Overview: As a Senior Laboratory Professional with over 10 years of experience, you will lead and execute advanced laboratory testing of construction materials, including asphalt, aggregates, soils, and concrete. Your expertise will ensure exceptional accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Laboratory Services Coordinator in daily operations.
- Train and mentor junior staff.
- Prioritize tests to meet project timelines, maintain inventory logs, and conduct complex laboratory analyses.
- Lead advanced laboratory testing efforts in accordance with STRATA’s Quality Management System Manual (QMSM), project requirements, and national standards (AASHTO, ASTM, etc.).
- Expertly analyze, interpret, and calculate test results in accordance with established procedures, leveraging data to drive informed decision-making and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of test results, communicating findings to the Laboratory Services Coordinator, clients, and contractors.
- Collaborate on equipment calibration and maintenance, identifying areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
- Obtain and maintain advanced certifications (WAQTC, ACI, etc.) for ongoing professional development and adherence to industry standards.
- Develop and implement advanced testing procedures and protocols to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 10+ years of experience in laboratory material testing.
- WAQTC (or equivalent) certification for aggregate, soil, concrete, and asphalt.
- Required Certifications: ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician, ACI Aggregate Base and Testing Technician, ACI Concrete Aggregate Testing Technician, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and Grapher® and/or KeyLab® software.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Adherence to STRATA’s drug and alcohol policy.

Compensation:
Starting at $30.00/hour with additional pay based on experience.
