Responsibilities
The Shoring Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the Shoring Yard at Tapani. This includes fielding all requests for shoring needs, ensuring proper procurement through Tapani’s shoring yard or rental services, and overseeing the loading, delivery, tracking, and inspection of all shoring equipment. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure efficient scheduling, dispatching, and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Shoring Coordination & Dispatching: Oversee and manage all shoring requests and dispatching.
- Field requests from job sites and ensure proper procurement of shoring equipment from Tapani’s yard or rental company.
- Schedule and coordinate all shoring dispatch calls, adjusting schedules as needed.
- Create and maintain daily schedules to ensure all job needs are met.

Delivery & Logistics: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of shoring equipment.
- Deliver necessary shoring to job sites, primarily in the greater Portland-Vancouver area, with occasional out-of-town travel.
- Utilize GPS navigation and routing for efficient transportation.
- Maintain necessary forklift certifications and operate forklifts as required.

Inventory & Record Keeping: Track, inspect, and manage shoring equipment.
- Track returned, missing, and damaged shoring using electronic or paper pick tickets.
- Confirm rental shoring that has been on job sites for 30 days or more.
- Complete a final review of each job to ensure accurate billing.
- Ensure proper equipment is documented on customer tickets.

Customer Service & Communication: Provide excellent service and maintain professional relationships.
- Communicate with rental teams and internal staff to confirm order status, deliveries, and service updates.
- Receive and address incoming job service calls promptly.
- Interact professionally with employees, management, vendors, and external partners.

Administrative & Technical Proficiency: Utilize technology for scheduling and tracking.
- Add new jobs to the computer system and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Ensure compliance with Tapani’s processes and procedures.
- Uphold Tapani’s Purpose document: Demonstrate actions and behaviors that align with Tapani’s Purpose and Values (Purpose and Values).

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of dispatch experience preferred or a combination of education, experience, and training.
- Prior experience in trenching/shoring aspect of construction.
- Familiarity with geographical areas and mapping programs for efficient routing.
- Proficiency in dispatch and record-keeping systems is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- A Class A CDL is preferred but not required; the company may provide training for a qualified candidate.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
