Job Opportunity: Full-Time Project Engineer

Garrett Electric is a leader in the commercial industrial electric arena, and we are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This full-time position will support managers and field leaders in keeping projects organized and efficient by performing project administration, maintaining document control, communicating with vendors and customers, tracking schedules, and other general coordination duties.  Candidates must be energetic, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to Garrett Electric’s reputation for exceptional customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordination, scheduling, task tracking, and reporting
  • Assist with procurement including:
    • Writing subcontracts and purchase orders
    • Tracking material orders and deliveries
  • Assist in cost reporting and control including budget entry and processing change orders.
  • Oversee project level document control including:
    • Pulling permits
    • Managing construction drawings and specifications
    • Preparing, reviewing, and distributing submittals
    • Preparing and distributing requests for information (RFI)
    • Preparing and distributing close-out meetings
  • Take and issue meeting minutes for project meetings
  • Assist project team in resolving construction conflicts and issues that arise
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Create panel and wire labels using engraving labeling equipment
  • Create panel schedules
  • Create official correspondence

Potential Additional Duties Based on Experience:

  • Assist in development of project cost estimates
  • Assist field personnel in managing quality control

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Proficient in standard business software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Bluebeam
  • Professional written communication skills including proper e-mail etiquette (i.e. grammar, spelling)
  • Professional verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial or industrial construction experience
  • Electrical construction experience
  • Proficient in project management software including Procore
  • Proficient in scheduling software including Microsoft Project

Base salary of $60,000-$80,000, DOE
