Premier Fire & Security, an APi Group Life Safety USA company, has an opening for a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Contract Administrator.   This position will work in connection with several of our locations in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina.  The team member will be officed at one of those location, based on convenience.

 Premier Fire & Security has 51 years of experience in the fire suppression industry and has expanded its footprint to serve customers throughout the Southeast. We offer a range of services including: fire sprinkler systems, security systems, fire alarm and detection systems, special hazards systems, voice data systems and fire extinguisher products.

 Position Overview: This position is responsible for managing all upstream and downstream contracts. This position’s primary focus will be to review and redline upstream client contracts and provide feedback for project management and senior leadership. 

 

Essential Functions - The individual in this role must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, and meet the following occupational demands, with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Review contracts between Owners or Contractor and Company, providing feedback to the project team.
  • Use available resources to evaluate contract language.
  • Redline and suggest contract language changes for operations team.
  • Review and provide feedback on insurance coverage requirements from Owners/Contractors.
  • Review requested changes from Subcontractors on Company generated contracts , terms and conditions.
  • Review and redline Master Subcontractor Agreements and provide feedback to operations team.
  • Review and redline terms and conditions of vendor applications.
  • Procure Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, and Payment Bonds for new projects.
  • Work with the estimating team to provide feedback on draft contracts and forms that are included in the proposal process.
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to Owner, Contractor and Subcontractor inquires.
  • Communicate with internal company team members in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required or Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Business or Risk Management Degree with 5 years of industry experience or equivalent 10 years of industry related experience.
  • Experience in review of construction contracts preferred.
  • Training in contract terms and negotiations required.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Willing and able to learn new and different software and internet-based platforms.
  • Proficiency in written communication and ability to draft and thoroughly understand legal and professional letters or contract language is a must.
  • Thorough understanding of the different types of Indemnity and Insurance plans and the ability to understand their unique language.
