Warehouse Clerk I
Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $16.22/hr – $21.11/hr DOQ
Under the general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, general and administrative work handling of the City’s warehouse inventory stores and scheduling fleet service needs. Reviews inventory levels and provides general support for the Warehouse. Follows purchasing polices.
Essential Duties:
- Writes, types or enters data into personal computer or other office equipment to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other record.
- Maintains files for the central warehouse functions.
- Reviews inventory control records and information.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other City personnel and vendor representatives.
- Maintains accurate attention to detail.
- Display resourcefulness and initiative in all areas.
- Maintain inventory records by recording items issued to operating personnel, items received into inventory and proposes adjustment generated from cycle and annual inventory counts performed as scheduled or directed.
- Properly receives incoming shipments of materials, including unloading if necessary.
- Handles issuance of inventory stock items as requested by using departments.
- Prepares requests for quotations for replacement of inventory stock items as necessary from computer generated reorder reports
- Safeguard warehouse and undocumented removal of inventory stock items.
- Perform general housekeeping and safety tasks in warehouse and office areas.
- Maintain vendor files and databases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
- Forklift certification required or must be able to obtain within thirty days of hire.
- Knowledge of personal computer use in the purchasing function.
- Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet, word-processing and database software highly desired.
- Must complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.
