ROVING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
A Roving Maintenance Technician is responsible for traveling to various commercial properties to perform maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections. This role involves a variety of tasks, including routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to maintain the properties in optimal condition.
- Travel to Sites: Regularly travel to different commercial properties to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
- Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of building systems and equipment to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance measures to minimize future issues and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and provide efficient solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with property managers, tenants, and other stakeholders to address maintenance concerns and provide updates
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma
- 1-3 years of commercial building maintenance experience
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and good driving record per McGough Fleet Policy
- Boilers License, obtain within six months of hire date
Preferred:
- Post-secondary education in building maintenance and/or HVAC systems
- 4-7 years of commercial building maintenance experience
- Knowledge of OSHA and other code and safety standards
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and building management systems
- HVAC system preventive maintenance skills
Skills:
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical skills
- Knowledge of general maintenance and routine repairs
- Knowledge of safe operating and maintenance of small to medium machinery
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 for emergencies
- Maintain a positive and helpful attitude
- Ability to work independently on routine assignments
- Good customer service skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills and computer skills.
- Follow directions, comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Write correspondence and memos and perform mathematical computations.
- Complete records or report information in standard format in accordance with department processes.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standard situations
- Good computer skills to complete work responsibilities and produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper English sentence construction, punctuation and grammar
- Basic first aid practices
Office and Travel:
- Requires daily travel between managed properties.
- Reports to the Building Services Supervisor.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- A company-provided truck and tools are included to support travel to multiple client sites for routine and requested building maintenance.
- Must have the flexibility to work outside of normal hours periodically as needed.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base hourly range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00 per hour, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.
Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth.
