Job Description: This individual provides crucial support to Superior Sand & Gravel’s (SSG) Operations Manager and operations staff, and assists in pulling aggregate samples for testing to ensure that SSG is meeting the quality standards and specifications.

WAGE: $20-35/hour + benefits (medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance access to Flex Savings Accounts. 

Responsibilities: 

Operational Support:

  • Provide administrative support to SSG’ Operations Manager.
  • Assist in coordinating the scheduling and operations of equipment, ensuring efficient and safe Support with tracking and managing inventory levels.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of operational records, including production logs and testing results.
  • Assist in documenting and filing reports related to quality control, safety inspections and operational performance.
  • Assist in communicating operational updates and any issues to all relevant parties.
  • Provide support in coordinating communication between different departments.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting aggregate material certification to meet customer or regulatory requirements.

     Quality Control:

  • Collect regular sampling of aggregates from production lines to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Transport/send aggregate samplings to testing facility.
  • Communicate test results to SSG’s team members.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of samples for testing and compliance purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quality control tests, results and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on material quality and compliance for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations in the handling of materials.

    Safety and Environmental Awareness:

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols while performing quality control duties.
  • Ensure all material handling is done in accordance with safety standards to minimize risks.
  • Report any unsafe practices or environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in dusty and noisy environments.
  • Ability to operate field testing equipment and aggregate sampling and testing tools.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing, walking, or driving for long periods.

Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of aggregate materials, testing methods, and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology
  • Clean driving record.
