Job Overview

We are recruiting Journeyperson and Apprentices for the following roles to join our team at the BHP Jansen Potash Mine in Jansen, SK. These positions are based on a 14/7 rotation and is camp-based at the Jansen Discovery Lodge.

  • E/I General Foreperson
  • E/I Quality Control Personnel
  • E/I Planner/Coordinator 
  • E/I Journeypersons and Apprentices

General Foreperson 

  • 5+ years of construction supervision experience
  • Previous experience as a GF, or similar direct supervisory role in an Industrial construction projects & turnarounds
  • Capable of overseeing up to 10 workers daily work schedule and tasks
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule & budget
  • Ensure that all personnel know and effectively practice all applicable regulatory, company and client policies

Quality 

  • Ensure that Quality requirements are met as per quality manual and client specifications
  • Receive and inspect the E&I equipment and ensure proper storage and preservation is met
  • Generate, manage and report daily punch status
  • Prepare as-built drawings and redlines using Bluebeam
  • Complete the quality assurance checks and compile final handover documentation
  • Perform various electrical tests and inspections
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Bluebeam and other software considered an asset

Electrical 

  • Previous electrical construction and/or maintenance experience working within the Industrial & mining sector would be considered an asset
  • Installing and terminating conduit and cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices
  • Installation of heat trace and accessories
  • Participate in safe work practices, tool-box meetings, and hazard assessments
  • Maintain positive, professional business relations with clients and coworkers

Instrumentation

  • Installation & testing of tubing and accessories
  • Receive and inspect material & equipment and ensure proper storage and preservation is met
  • Assist with day-to-day Electrical activities during downtime
  • Assist with quality turnover documentation
  • Dual ticket considered a desirable asset

E/I Coordinator/Planner

  • Collaborate closely with PM’s, cross-functional teams and all partners, internal and external
  • Support the implementation and management of assigned projects
  • Assist the project teams in project related activities
  • Upload and maintains documents in tracking databases in a timely manner
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, P6, word and Bluebeam required

Overall Requirements

  • Must Possess Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-2020) Certification
  • ESC Fall Protection Certificate
  • ESC EWP Certificate
  • Standard First Aid
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean 3 Year Driver’s Abstract
  • Must pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
