About us:
We are a full-service plumbing, mechanical, HVAC service, controls, and design-build company.
Primary Purpose of this position:
Responsible for assisting the Sheet Metal/HVAC Purchasing Agent to facilitate effective teamwork and communication across the company, promote competitive pricing, sustainable vendor relationships, and enable operational efficiency for the company.
Specific job duties:
- Support and enforce safety policy and lead by example to promote safe work habits and continually improve safety culture
- Promote company values, enforce company policies, and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Assist with the development of internal processes that facilitate value-based purchasing and operational efficiency
- Maintain and distribute relevant purchasing information to internal stakeholders as needed to enable prudent project management
- Maintain familiarity with Construction Division workflow and specific responsibilities of all stakeholders who interact with the Purchasing process
- Assist internal customers (i.e., Project Managers, Superintendents, shops, purchasing/receiving personnel) with equipment and material purchasing logistics
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to maintain competitive pricing and sustainable relationships
- Serve as a liaison between suppliers/vendors and internal customers through the Purchasing Process
- Accurately interpret work orders, material estimate and take-offs for the purpose of purchasing materials and equipment.
- Manage material purchases in a manner that supports project completion schedules while minimizing work in progress inventory.
- Complete the timely return of over-materials to maximize RBI profitability and minimize RBI inventory.
- Effectively prioritize and process call-in material orders to maintain job schedules.
- Maintain a cost-effective inventory of materials to support efficient manufacturing processes.
- Safely operate forklifts and equipment to transport materials as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized logistics area.
- Assist the Purchasing Agent as needed.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders to areas as needed
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently carry 40 lbs. unassisted, all within a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to use hands to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Maintain a clean work area and comply with housekeeping requirements
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
- Demonstrate working knowledge of materials and systems related to our business
- Possess excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Possess excellent organization and follow-up skills and demonstrate attention to detail
- Demonstrate professional demeanor and a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude

- Ability to work 8-to-10-hour days, flexible schedule, and overtime when necessary

- Ability to accurately read a ruler or tape measure
- Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
