Position Summary

An Electrician Level 2 will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing and leading electrical projects from inception to completion. This role requires a candidate with a strong technical background, project management skills, and the ability to provide leadership to a dynamic team of electrical professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Provide technical leadership to the electrical team, guiding and mentoring team members.
  • Develop and review electrical system designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to create comprehensive project plans.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the reliability and safety of electrical installations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and codes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and civil engineering, to achieve integrated and seamless project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address project requirements and specifications.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical project experience with a proven track record of successful project completion.
  • Must have an active Certified General Electrician License.
  • Proficient in industry-standard software for project planning and documentation.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Lead or in a similar leadership role.
  • Thorough attention to detail in project planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

 

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the electrical team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Ability to address client needs and concerns effectively, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Possession of relevant electrical certifications and licenses in accordance with local and state requirements.

 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Standing: Will be required to stand for extended periods, especially during on-site project inspections and oversight.
  • Sitting: While some tasks may involve sitting for extended periods, the role is dynamic, requiring a combination of both office and fieldwork.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. may be required during project implementation and maintenance.
  • Manual Dexterity: The position demands a high level of manual dexterity for the handling and manipulation of various tools and equipment.
  • Keyboarding: Constant use of keyboards with both hands is expected, particularly for project planning, documentation, and communication.
  • Reaching: Occasionally, the Electrical Lead may need to reach above shoulder level, such as when inspecting or installing electrical components.
  • Frequent Below-Shoulder Reaching: Frequent reaching below shoulder level is expected, particularly when working with electrical panels and systems.
  • Field Work: Overseeing electrical projects in various locations and environments.
  • Office Setting: Some tasks, such as project planning, design work, and documentation, may be performed in an office setting.
  • Travel: Regular travel to project sites, client meetings, and other locations may be required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Hazards: Exposure to construction-related hazards, electrical risks, and the need to adhere to strict safety protocols is expected.
  • Noise Level: The work environment may involve moderate to loud noise levels, especially in construction settings.
  • Protective Gear: Will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, as needed.
