The Position

A D+H Construction Assistant Project Manager is someone with experience or education in construction, architecture, and/or related fields. Working alongside project management and other team members, you will:

  • Support Project Manager in coordinating documentation for all project phases: preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
  • Maintain construction documentation, including logs, reports, directories, and city/code-required documents.
  • Assist in ensuring construction work complies with contract requirements and project schedules, report field issues to the Project Manager or Superintendent.
  • Update and distribute project schedules to subcontractors and project teams.
  • Schedule and meet with inspectors.
  • Process RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in reviewing plans and specifications to develop subcontractor scopes and identify constructability issues.
  • Coordinate bid documents and subcontractor bid invitations.
  • Assist with estimating and reviewing subcontractor proposals.
  • Coordinate closeout documentation and as-built drawings at project completion.
  • Perform duties both onsite and in the office.

What’s Required by You

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience. A degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field is a huge plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and recording skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with construction management software

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
  • Visual acuity to read documents and use computer screens accurately.
  • Manual dexterity for operating office equipment and handling documents.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Occasional walking and climbing stairs during site visits; must be able to navigate construction environments safely.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions and ability to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hat) while at jobsite.
