Job Summary

Responsible for developing, communicating, and administering sales programs for the company’s compact construction segment of equipment. Additionally, this role will have responsibility for ordering and managing all inventory within the segment, and recruiting, training, developing, and engaging members of the commercial sales team. The Construction Equipment Sales Manager will be based out of a Van Wall location in the central Iowa area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop and execute sales strategies and objectives for the compact construction segment at the territory level, as well as communicating goals and objectives to territory leaders, managing progress, and driving results and accountability.
· Grow compact construction equipment segment revenue and market share through the growth of current customers and the acquisition of new customers by supporting the efforts of the team to showcase new products, deliver goods and services that exceed customer expectations, and resolve issues with expediency.
· Ensure that all internal processes are being followed from inventory management to post sales aftermarket support.
· Serve as a point of escalation to resolve customer issues promptly and satisfactorily.
· Directly lead and drive high levels of employee engagement which may include recruiting, training, managing performance, and developing team members.
· Monitor and analyze financial performance of the segment against a budget and own the overall results of the segment against set budget targets for sales, cost, and profitability.
· Build and maintain relationships with key customers
· Participate in industry events including trade shows, demo days, and conferences to remain attuned to trends, network connections, technology, and industry innovations.
· Communicate progress, updates, needs, and opportunities to the company’s senior leadership and manufacturer representatives as applicable.

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, or another related field is required.
· A minimum of 10 years of experience within the construction, light industrial, or heavy equipment industry required
· Past successful track record of Sales Leadership in a related industry, preferably construction
· Previous experience successfully leading and directing the efforts of others
· Must be an excellent communicator, orally and in writing, with the ability to communicate to employees and partners at all levels
· Must be highly organized and a strong attention to detail
· Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate opportunities, create proactive strategies, and manage them through successful execution
· Excellent influence and collaboration skills are a must
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s fleet driver selection and safety program
· Must have strong business acumen with the ability to interpret and manage the P/L
· Travel of approximately 50% is required
