Position Overview:

As a Shop Service Technician at Coastline Equipment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our machinery. You will work on servicing and maintaining a diverse range of heavy equipment to support the construction, mining, and forestry industries. Your expertise will directly contribute to the seamless operation of our equipment, enhancing the satisfaction of our customers and the success of their projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Diagnostics & Repairs: Conduct detailed inspections and diagnostics of heavy equipment to identify issues and provide accurate and timely repairs.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and routine servicing to prevent equipment breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan.

  • Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate service records and reports for all repairs, services, and equipment history to ensure compliance and track performance.

  • Parts & Inventory Management: Order and track parts as needed, ensuring adequate inventory to complete repairs in a timely manner.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, maintaining a clean and safe work environment in line with Coastline Equipment’s commitment to safety standards.

  • Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customers to understand issues and provide recommendations for repairs and maintenance services.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and departments to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and resolve them efficiently.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or equivalent experience in diesel mechanics, automotive repair, or heavy equipment technology preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance, repair, or a related field.

  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, with a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Certifications: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. ASE or other relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and effectively communicate with both colleagues and customers.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with John Deere, Wirtgen, and TopCon equipment is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the latest technology and equipment systems used in the construction, mining, or forestry industries.


Work Environment:

This position is based in a shop environment with a focus on hands-on mechanical work. It involves some lifting, bending, and manual labor. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, and safety protocols must be followed at all times. Occasional travel may be required for field service calls, depending on customer needs.


Reporting Structure:

The Shop Service Technician reports directly to the Shop Manager. This position may require collaboration with other service team members, as well as coordination with the Parts and Sales departments to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
