Fire Alarm Technician
Western States Fire Protection is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. We are looking for a dedicated professional who excels in all aspects of fire alarm systems, including:
- Installation
- Programming
- Troubleshooting
- Service
The hourly rate for this position is $35.00-$45.00 per hour depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Service and Maintenance: Perform service, testing, inspection, programming, and installation of low voltage Fire Alarm Systems.
- System Commissioning: Execute installation and commissioning of new Fire Alarm Systems by collaborating closely with the team and electrical installers.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and apply construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications during Fire Alarm installations.
- Coordination: Communicate effectively with engineers, general contractors, and end-users to ensure smooth project execution.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhere to safe work practices.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Adapt to varying work schedules, including off-hours, shift, and weekend assignments as needed.
Job Qualifications
- Certifications: Possesses a NICET II certification and Colorado Springs Fire Alarm License.
- Safety Training: OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ service or installation experience is preferred.
- Code Knowledge: Solid understanding of NFPA 72, Factory Mutual, and relevant fire alarm codes.
- Team and Independence: Capable of working independently and in a group or training environment.
- Expertise: Skilled in fire alarm monitoring and system programming.
- Technical Ability: Proven capability to install, troubleshoot, test, and repair low voltage fire alarm systems.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driver’s License: Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with Company policy.
- Screenings: Willingness to pass a post-offer drug test, background check, and reference check.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Mobility: Regular bending, reaching, climbing, and walking.
