Job Summary
The Division Manager, Golf and Sports Turf leads all aspects of the division, spanning 9 states currently (IA, IL, NE, KS, MN, ND, SD, WI, MO), specializing in the sale of John Deere Golf and Sports Turf maintenance equipment as well as Parts Sales and Machine Maintenance support. 

The role reports to Van Wall’s CEO and is responsible for all facets of the division including sales, aftermarket, customer experience, employee experience, and financial management.   The Division Manager is directly responsible for the division meeting and exceeding key objectives and goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Develop and execute sales strategies and objectives for the division and at the territory level, as well as communicating goals and objectives to territory leaders, managing progress, and driving results and accountability. 
-Grow division revenue and market share through the growth of current customers and the acquisition of new customers by supporting the efforts of the team to showcase new products, deliver goods and services that exceed customer expectations, and resolve issues with expediency. 
-Oversee all aspects of the division operation, in collaboration with other key stakeholders, including parts inventory, service department effectiveness, and general operations.   
-Ensure that all internal processes are being followed from inventory management to post sales after-market support. 
-Serve as a point of escalation to resolve customer issues promptly and satisfactorily. 
-Directly lead and drive high levels of employee engagement which may include recruiting, training, managing performance, and developing team members. 
-Monitor and analyze financial performance of the division against a budget and own the overall results of the division against set budget targets for sales, cost, and profitability. 
-Build and maintain relationships with key customers including golf course superintendents and turf managers. 
-Participate in industry events including trade shows, demo days, and conferences to remain attuned to trends, network connections, technology, and industry innovations. 
-Communicate progress, updates, needs, and opportunities to the company’s senior leadership and manufacturer representatives as applicable. 
-Foster a positive and productive workplace through setting clear goals and objectives, communicating effectively and intentionally, celebrating successes, and exemplifying the company’s values of Courtesy, Respect, Integrity, and Innovation. 
-Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Position Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, or another related field is required. 
-A minimum of 10 years of experience within the golf, turf, or golf retail business is required. 
-Past successful track record of Sales Leadership in a related industry, preferably turf. 
-Previous experience successfully leading and directing the efforts of others 
-Must be an excellent communicator, orally and in writing, with the ability to communicate to employees and partners at all levels 
-Must be highly organized and a strong attention to detail 
-Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate opportunities, create proactive strategies, and manage them through successful execution 
-Excellent influence and collaboration skills are a must 
-Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s fleet driver selection and safety program 
-Must have strong business acumen with the ability to interpret and manage the P/L 
-Travel of approximately 50% is required
