POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide comprehensive design services, project management, purchasing and administrative support.  To ensure Client satisfaction at all times.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
•    Collect and organize data, specifications, cost estimates, presentation material and other documentation.
•    Assist principal in organizing and improving company operations as they pertain to residential projects.


DESIGN DUTIES:
•    Program, design and manage custom residential and custom spec/model home interior design projects.
•    Research, select and present materials such as stone, tile, countertops, cabinetry, custom built-ins, flooring and wall finishes etc. 
•    Prepare and update finish schedules.
•    Research furniture and fabrics, including cost estimates.
•    Compile Client presentations and prepare supporting visuals.  
•    Travel to project locations, Client residences, furniture markets etc. as required.
•    Coordinate with Senior Design Director and Architectural/CAL professionals to create complete interior design documents. 


PURCHASING DUTIES:
•    Price selected items and offer alternatives for discontinued items and prepare proposals to Client for same.
•    Present proposals to Client for approval and collect any required deposits.
•    Provide documentation for Purchasing to order approved items. 
•    Coordinate with subs and local vendors for timely delivery/installation. 


CLIENT/PROJECT MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
•    Prepare, manage and update Client budgets. 
•    Assist with contract management.
•    Attend Client meetings.
•    Arrange meetings with Vendors and Clients.
•    Supervise installers, ensure all items are delivered and unpack/check accessories.
•    Work with Clients to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
•    Promote excellence in interior design, Client and intercompany communications, customer service and professionalism.

Other related duties as requested and assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:  Four year degree in Design from accredited school or university.  
Mandatory Experience/Background: 5 to 8 years of work experience in interior designer role.  Must possess creative skills and the ability to visualize concepts and communicate to others.   Must have valid driver’s license and be proficient (or capable of learning) relevant software programs including Outlook, Design Manager, PowerPoint, CAD viewer and plotting.  The ability to read and interpret blueprints is critical. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important.  Must be capable of working as an integral part of a team in a fast-paced environment.  Requires strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.  Superior planning and problem-solving skills essential. 
Desired Experience/Qualifications: ASID or NCIDQ a plus. A keen interest in changing trends in design.  Ability to sketch/quick draw a plus. 
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Will be required to sit at a desk/in front of computer for extended periods of time.  At times may require climbing a ladder during an installation at a completed home.
