JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of assigned projects. Senior project managers need to be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and empathetically with the right stakeholders at the right time. They should also be able to understand and interpret communication from all stakeholders.

  • Project initiation: This may include reviewing program requirements and scope with the client representative and users.
  • Budgeting: Senior project managers are responsible for estimating labor and material costs, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and ensuring the project stays within budget and on schedule.
  • Mentoring and coaching: Senior project managers can use coaching and mentoring to improve leadership and develop good relationships with team members.
  • Decision-making: Senior project managers need to be able to make quick and efficient decisions, which may be aided by project cost management programs and software programs.
  • Goal setting: Senior project managers set goals to give the team direction and may also set the cadence for meetings, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Planning and organization: Senior project managers need to have excellent planning and organization skills, as well as attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. They also need to be able to multi-task and switch between projects and stakeholders.

REQUIRED CRITERIA/EXPERIENCE 

  • 15-20 years’ minimum experience with management and estimating for a general contractor. Exceptional math and computer skills including Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis in Excel and Project, Sage software is a plus, LEED certified is a plus.
  • Experience managing client relationships and performing light business development duties.
  • Required BA or BS Degree in Business, Engineering or preferably in Construction Management
  • Must have extensive experience in Mid Rise, Multi-Family, Mixed Use, Commercial, and Warehousing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Construction Expertise: A solid background in construction, including experience in bidding and estimating.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proven track record of effectively resolving issues that arise during projects.
  • Professional Demeanor: Demonstrates a professional appearance and attitude, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Represents Coast Construction Group positively and professionally.
  • Project Management Knowledge: Thorough understanding of project coordination and scheduling.
  • Blueprint Literacy: Proficient at reading and accurately interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Contractual Understanding: Able to comprehend contractual legal documents and draft addendums.
  • Tech-Savvy: PC literate for correspondence, spreadsheet tracking, and project management coordination. Basic skills with Microsoft Office are essential, and familiarity with MS Project is a must.
  • Effective Multitasking: Demonstrates established and consistent methods of handling multiple tasks with attention to detail.
