Shickel Corporation is seeking a hands-on, reliable, and safety-conscious Electrical Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This essential role ensures the functionality and safety of equipment in our custom metal fabrication and machine shop environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on tools, welders, hoists, compressors, and machinery.

  • Repair mechanical and electrical equipment including motors, gearboxes, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and pneumatic tools.

  • Conduct equipment adjustments to optimize operation and minimize downtime.

  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and maintain detailed service logs.

  • Assist with the installation, relocation, and repair of machinery and structural systems.

  • Operate forklifts and hoists to access and move equipment.

  • Diagnose equipment issues and recommend improvements to minimize future failures.

  • Provide on-site maintenance services as assigned.

  • Work safely and in compliance with all safety standards and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Technical certificate or 2–3 years of relevant maintenance experience (or equivalent combination).

  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and parts breakdowns.

  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and hydraulic equipment.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and time tracking.

  • Strong reasoning, math (geometry, algebra), and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs and work in a physically active, loud environment.

  • Willingness to work overtime or shift hours when needed.
