Job purpose

 

The Quality Control Administrator shall ensure conformance to applicable specifications and plans with respect to materials, off-site fabrication, workmanship, construction, finish, and functional performance.

Duties and responsibilities

· Maintain current QC records of all inspections and tests performed.

· Maintain a daily log of all inspections performed for both contractor and subcontractor operations.

· Ensure daily inspection reports identify all QC inspections and QC tests conducted, results of inspections, location and nature of defects found, causes for rejection, and remedial or corrective actions taken or proposed.

· Inspection of all materials, construction, plant, and equipment for conformance to the technical specifications.

· Performance of all QC tests as required by the technical specifications.

· Maintain current QC records of all inspections and tests performed.

· Maintain a daily log of all inspections performed for both Contractor and subcontractor operations.

Qualifications

 

· High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

· 2-3 years of quality control experience in the construction industry.

· Proficiency in reading specifications and technical drawings.

· Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.

· Experience performing quality control tests on construction materials.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Illinois DOT certification Level 1 or the ability to obtain within 3 months.

Working conditions

 

Working in both a lab environment along with outdoor job sites. Lab environment in standalone building that is climate controlled. Outdoor job sites will experience various weather conditions including extreme heat.

 

Physical requirements

 

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Position requires prolonged sitting and reaching, standing and lifting.
