DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for managing mechanical construction projects during all phases of development to job completion. Demonstrated ability to excel in these areas of project management: scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, client relationship, and a familiarity with mechanical construction activities for a variety of projects including Healthcare, Institutional, Industrial and Governmental. This position reports to President/CEO.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Develop complete estimates from take-off to bid summary
  • Create bid documents and conduct bid of subcontracts and vendors
  • Prepare budgets, estimates, and scopes of work for mechanical contracts
  • Determine and prepare project schedules with full understanding of the construction process
  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors activities and equipment orders
  • Manage multiple projects and all project deliverables, POs, contracts, and change orders
  • Review/approve invoices, monitor subcontractors progress, performance, quality and timeliness
  • Read architectural, structural, & mechanical plans to identify pre-fabrication opportunities
  • Ability to prioritize work to accommodate deadlines with minimum supervision

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with computerized estimating software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excel at managing multiple projects and competing deadlines with a “can-do" attitude
  • Effective organizational, customer relations (GC/Owners) and time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business planning, resource allocation, leadership and coordination of project resources
  • Must be a self-starter, possess strong verbal & written communication skills & solid understanding of mechanical construction principals & practices

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years progressive experience in project management/estimating in mechanical contracting

 

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

  • Valid State Driver’s License, required
  • Must be able to pass FBI background check

 

SALARY EXPECTATIONS:

Salary and benefits; commensurate with experience

 

 PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Long periods of sitting
  • Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials
  • Lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds
  • See and hear (either naturally or with correction)
  • Occasional Construction Jobsite Visits
    • Climb up and down ladders, stairs, and scaffolds
    • Maintain balance on scaffolds, platforms and uneven ground
    • Stoop, kneel and crouch
    • Stand and walk for long periods
    • Work at elevated areas
