Yard Attendant
Reports To: Yard Coordinator/Foreman
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-time
Position Location: Fredericksburg, VA
Overview: The Yard Attendant is responsible for organizing, tracking, stationing, and retrieving inventory at the Fredericksburg Location. Daily responsibilities include the gathering and movement of products throughout the yard including storage and retrieval of reflectors, rods, crash cushions, barrier wall, paint, parts, equipment, and other goods as needed by the operations team. This position requires the operation of heavy equipment when necessary to move/load barrier wall and other inventory. Practices safe work practices always. This position may work nights/weekends when required to meet customer needs. A valid driver’s license is required.

Daily Duties:
- Gather various supplies, including reflectors, rods, cushions, and barrier wall for the operations team as needed.
- Repair crash cushions.
- Use an Excavator and forklift to load outbound and unload incoming items on flatbed trucks as needed.
- Operate broom truck to clear operating areas.
- Assists in the movement of products throughout the yard including storage and retrieval of barrier wall, paint, parts, equipment, and other goods.
- Implements daily production and shipping plan, arranging for excess stock to be stored.
- Confirms availability of items to be retrieved for use on various projects by verifying inventory records or conducting inventories of required items.
- Performs manual labor and other related duties as directed.
- Always make safety a priority.
- Comply with OSHA safety laws and regulations.
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A valid Driver’s License is Required.
- Local Travel in a company vehicle to various local sites as needed.
- Ability to work Nights & Weekends when needed.
- Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as within a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems, make logical decisions, and communicate ideas.

- Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Mental and visual attention is necessary to effectively complete work tasks.
Environmental Conditions
- Work outside and be exposed to the weather.
- Wear protective or safety equipment, i.e. safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.
- May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances that are typically associated with a construction site.
