Job Summary:

Lowboy Driver will have a proven track record of safely and efficiently transporting heavy equipment and materials to and from construction sites.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maneuver a lowboy trailer to transport heavy equipment and materials to and from designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lowboy truck and trailer to ensure safe operation and compliance with regulations.
• Secure loads properly using chains, straps, and other securing devices.
• Communicate effectively with logistics coordinator, site foremen, and other team members.
• Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safety and maintain a clean driving record.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance of the lowboy truck and trailer.
• Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of yourself, other team members, and the public.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Familiar with basic operation of various construction equipment to be able to load and unload.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
• Excellent driving skills with the ability to maneuver large vehicles in various weather and road conditions.
• Physical stamina and endurance to handle the demands of long hours behind the wheel and
• loading/unloading equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with foremen and crews.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines and project demands. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on your truck and trailer.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a lowboy driver or in a similar role.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while operating the vehicle.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to climb on and operate the vehicle in a safe manner ensuring keeping a 3-point contact when entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Must be able to work on Saturdays and at night, when needed. As the schedule is commonly a 6-day work week (Monday-Saturday)

• Location will be our home office in Franklin, TN.
