Job Description
Kaempf & Harris Sheetmetal, a Division of R.W. Warner, Inc., is looking for a dependable Driver with a current DOT certification (or the ability to obtain one) to join our team. This role is critical in supporting project operations by ensuring materials—primarily ductwork—are delivered safely and on time to various job sites. This individual will also serve as the point person for directing Material Handlers during loading, unloading, and staging activities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate company trucks to transport materials between the shop and job sites.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of materials (primarily ductwork).
- Direct and coordinate Material Handlers during deliveries and staging activities.
- Communicate with project managers to plan and prioritize delivery schedules.
- Perform routine inspections of delivery vehicles and report maintenance needs.
- Ensure all deliveries are executed in compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
- Assist with shop organization, basic inventory tasks, and material prep as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one quickly (CDL a plus but not required).
- Previous experience driving flatbeds, box trucks, or similar delivery vehicles preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to direct team members.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions.
- Familiarity with construction materials (especially HVAC ductwork) a plus.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and communication skills.
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Saturday's possible), 6 am to 2:30 pm (30 minute break for lunch)
Compensation: $24 per hour
