Job Title: Dump truck 

Job Location: Bay County, FL and surrounding counties                                

Job Type: Full Time, Expected hours:  No less than 40 hours per week

Manages Others: No

Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation, and meet other requirements of this position.

  • Drive truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials; pulls levers or turns crank to tilt body and dump contents.
  • Must follow a schedule for pickups and deliveries of materials.
  • Is required to verify the types of materials he is hauling as well as their weight.
  • When working in conjunction with other equipment operators and truck drivers, must clearly communicate with them to make sure materials are delivered according to the job specifications and timetables.
  • Must keep his truck clean and in good working order with proper maintenance and cleaning.
  • Responsible for daily inspection and fueling of truck, will notify the mechanic area when truck needs servicing or maintenance.
  • Any other driving duties that may be assigned

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

              -  Class A or B CDL license for minimum of 2 years

              -  25 years of age                    

              -  Medical Card (or ability to get one)

              -  Clean driving record 

Ability to:

- Work independently and expected to maintain a schedule of work.

- Good coordination skills are required for a dump truck driver to operate the controls in the cab of his truck that manipulate the bed.

- Must have a good understanding of math and angles to properly position the bed to dump materials in measured amounts.

- Regular and peripheral vision abilities have to be sharp for him/her to be aware of other trucks and of the heavy equipment that frequently surrounds him/her at job sites.

-  Truck driver must know and follow safety regulations of the company  and the general safety laws as well. 

-  Work cooperatively with others and have a good, positive attitude

 -  Be punctual;  Further, this means that you must be ready to work when your shift starts.  

  Work Environment

Willingness to work out doors under varying climatic conditions and work overtime on an extended shift of off-hours as needed. 

You should also work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

Physical Requirements:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, reach with hands and arms

- Must be able to sit for long periods of time

- Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots

- Must have quick reaction times

- Ability to frequently enter and exit the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground

- Able to sit in the driver’s seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals, switches, levers, buttons, etc. required to safely operate the truck

- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions

- Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others.

- Able to speak, read, write, and understand English is mandatory.

- The employee must have the ability to see with close and distant vision

Pay based on experience and position.
