We currently have an opening for a Fleet/Field Mechanic.

Position Summary:

We are looking to hire an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our Fleet of heavy Truck, Excavation equipment and small fleet equipment. As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for driving to the job site, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet.

To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery, be physically fit, Work in all weather conditions and be able to troubleshoot.

Diagnose and repair issues and defects on the job site. Working in an efficient and safe manner while following company policy and guidelines and following manufacture guidelines and recommendations for Maintenance and repair. In all types of weather conditions.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Driving to the job site in a company service vehicle.
  • Inspecting trucks, Excavators, Loaders, and other heavy equipment for condition and proper performance.
  • Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
  • Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment and repairing defects as needed.
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged equipment parts.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine service and Maintenance on heavy Truck, Heavy Equipment, light Fleet vehicles and small equipment.
  • Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like Pickup Sweeper, blades, Buckets, Compaction Wheels, Mowers, Vibratory Compactors.
  • Performing major repair work when necessary.
  • Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years Field and shop Heavy Truck and Heavy equipment repair and Maintenance experience required.
  • Proven work experience and history as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies.
  • Ability to move and operate heavy trucks and heavy machinery.
  • Extensive knowledge of Hydraulics, electrical, diesel engines and construction equipment.
  • Ability to work after-hours and weekends if required and possible emergency call out.
  • Good communication and organization skills required to maintain Fleet Maintenance tracking system and records.
  • Must have own tools to perform job requirements, Service Truck provided for tool storage, specialty tools provided by company when required.
  • Must have clean driving record/MVR for insurability.
  • Able to pass/obtain DOT Medical Certification
  • Subject to DOT random drug screening
  • CDL Class A Manual Preferred but not required.
  • Med/Hvy ASE Preventive Maintenance Preferred But not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
