Schedule: 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday

General Summary:

Primary duties involve quality assurance on the construction job site to include quality assurance responsibilities, development of the quality documentation as warranted, and supporting quality control inspectors. Participates in implementing the company quality control program and assures conformance to the applicable quality requirements. Implements quality control related processes for special processes, inspection and test, material test and equipment (M&TE) program, and their associated documentation. Participates in audits and surveillances to ensure compliance and effective implementation of quality control processes. Observes quality related activities, monitoring process/procedure compliance, conformance to the applicable quality plans, standards, building codes, and project specifications.  

Quality Assurance

Plans and implements internal auditing activities including generation of audit reports, as required. Implements and manages corrective actions. Ensures that project personnel have been provided applicable project quality training and maintains training records. Ensures quality records and documentation are maintained and submitted per the established schedule. Generates non-conformance reports with input from the project team, tracks non-conformances to closure. Examines test and inspection records. Ensures the tests and inspections are performed in compliance with specified project requirements. Ensures the nonconforming items which do not pass the required tests and inspections are not inadvertently installed, used, or operated.

Monitors material handling, storage and shipping activities to ensure compliance with the established processes and applicable requirements. Provides quality assurance training for the project teams, as required. Assists the Quality Manager and the project team with the applicable project-related activities.

Quality Control

Develops inspection and test plans for onsite installation/construction activities and executes inspection and test plan (ITP) as required. Maintains the company measuring and test equipment program (M&TE) to include maintaining M&TE inventory, issuing M&TE to approved personnel, sending M&TE out for calibration, performing verification of post-use M&TE, etc.  Assists with the development and submittal of all quality control-related project submittals. Performs non-destructive examination (NDE) activities and monitors or performs inspection and test activities as needed. Implements the nonconformance reporting process from initiation to closure. 

Audits and Assessments

Plans and executes audits and assessments of subcontractors and suppliers when needed. Lead or participate in quality audits and surveillances of project-related quality affecting activities.  

Quality Training

Develops and provides training on quality control systems as needed.                                                                                               

Education and Experience:

Minimum 5 years combined quality assurance/control experience in Quality Control and mechanical construction required; ten (10) years' experience is preferred.  

Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent experience preferred

Ability to certify, at a minimum, as a level II ASNT-TC-1A inspector

Detailed knowledge of quality improvements and how the theories of quality are translated into action.

Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) preferred.

Ability to read, understand, interpret codes and standards

Ability to read, understand, interpret specifications and drawings

Physical Requirements:

Frequent use of computer monitor, keyboard and mouse. Frequently sits. Regularly stands. Regularly walks.

Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces. Occasionally ascends and descends stairs. Occasionally kneels, stoops, crouches and/or crawls. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Occasionally drives to meeting locations or project sites.
