What You’ll Do:
In this role, you’ll operate a variety of fabrication machines including press brakes, shears, ironworkers, saws, drills, grinders, and more. You’ll read and interpret blueprints and work orders to produce precision parts, while using ERP systems to track inventory and production. You’ll support continuous improvement efforts, maintain high safety and quality standards, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
What You Bring:
- 1-2 years of experience in a fabrication or job shop environment.
- Proficiency with machines such as CNC press brakes, metal rollers, rotary Punch Presses, coil straightens and feeders, sanders, drills, milling machines (general purpose and duty), grinders, metal shears, iron workers, and saws.
- Familiarity with ERP systems & transactions.
- Willingness to complete forklift and overhead crane certification (training provided).
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, teammates, and internal customers.
- Good critical thinking skills to resolve questions and problems related to parts quotes, orders, and inquiries.
- A high degree of diligence to ensure quality products and correct documentation.
- Ability to work at a steady pace, even with interruptions and firm deadlines.

SUMMARY
A Fabrication Machine Operator sets up, adjusts, and operates machinery to fabricate metal or other materials into specific shapes and sizes according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machinery, maintaining quality standards, and performing essential duties as listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Live and promote Safety in every job task and activity each day.
- Effectively operate the machines in the fabrication department which include but are not limited to: CNC Laser (Omaha, NE), CNC Waterjet (Omaha, NE), CNC press brakes, metal rollers, rotary Punch Presses, coil straightens and feeders, sanders, drills, milling machines (general purpose and duty), grinders, metal shears, iron workers, and saws.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in recording inventory transactions and labor times.
- Become proficient is use of ERP systems to efficiently access data of materials for: inventory management, inventory location, production order information, deadlines dates of materials (both inbound and outbound).
- Continuously improve by looking for opportunities to fabricate items more efficiently
- Maintain a long-term vision of developing the growth of the fabrication department.
- Utilizing good time management tools to work at a steady rate without constant supervision or direction.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gages, and height gages.
- Understands, supports, implements, and sustains 5S program initiatives and goals.
- Supports and upholds the Conductix Quality, Environmental, and Safety policies in ISO.
- Upholds Core Values.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent or 1-2 years of experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak with employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions and quantities as well as conversion from the metric. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply logical understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Employee must be willing and able to successfully pass our in-house forklift & overhead crane certification program prior to operating these machines within our facility. Operating these machines is an essential function of this role. This certification program will assess proficiency in safe operation according to our company’s standards and protocols. Training will be provided.
