Salaried. $60,000 - $80,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Field Safety Coordinator to support our company operations. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture across job sites, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations, and helping to prevent incidents through training, inspections, and field support. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and committed to ensuring every employee goes home safely. This position will work directly with the Safety Manager in maintaining and growing a positive safety culture and program throughout all aspects of the business.

Job Duties & Requirements:

- Assist with job site pre-construction meetings
- Aid in job site morning huddle and hazard identification meetings
- Conduct inspections on trench protection, traffic control, etc.
- Train new foreman and superintendents on field documents
- Help promote a culture that encourages safe behavior for all team members and reinforces the achievement of safety goals and objectives.
- Monitor pre-task planning documentation and track frequency/accuracy
- Provide supervision of confined space work
- Assist with the completion of new employee check-ins
- Audit subcontractor job sites and provide report-based findings
- Assist with the inspection of traffic management on site using online forms
- Aid in the completion of Job Safety Analysis on job sites
- Incident investigating and reporting
- Serve as a point of contact for safety issues in the field, responding to concerns quickly and professionally.
- Support field leadership in enforcing safety expectations and addressing non-compliance in a constructive manner.
- Stay current on safety regulations and best practices relevant to our industry.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; safety-related certification or degree preferred (e.g., OSHA 30, CHST, STSC).
- 2+ years of experience in a safety role within construction, heavy civil, or paving.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, work zone safety standards, and DOT requirements.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigating active job sites.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence positive behavior.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or safety management systems for recordkeeping and reporting.
- Strong observational and listening skills.
- Very adaptable and reliable.
- Strong accountability and problem solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
