We are currently searching for a Civil Construction Manager. This person is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all on-site activities for civil construction projects. This individual ensures that projects are delivered safely, within budget, on time, and in accordance with design specifications. The role demands expertise in managing field operations, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage field operations for civil construction, including sitework, underground utilities, and structural elements.
- Directly supervise and mentor a team including (Sr.) Superintendents and Foremen.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, aligning labor, equipment, and material resources to ensure efficient execution.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure site compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Conduct regular site meetings to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and communicate client expectations.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progress and resolve disputes.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts to guide field execution.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with material procurement to maintain production targets.
- Track and manage project performance metrics including productivity, quality, and budget compliance.
- Identify underperforming operations and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Support hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and other personnel management activities.
- Uphold and enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision, including Senior Superintendent responsibilities on civil/infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record managing complex, large-scale civil construction projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction, site development, and underground utilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams.
- Valid driver's license; OSHA 510 certification; PMP or CCM certification is a plus
Work Environment:
Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. While performing the essential functions of this job the Civil Construction Manager will regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and manipulate object, reach with hands and arms, lift above head, bend to the waist, squat, talk and hear. Occasionally climb ladders, crawl in tight or confined spaces, and lift, move or push up to 75 pounds. Specific vision requirements include near, far and color vision. Ascend or descend stairs as well as walk on uneven terrain. Work in construction areas posing greater risk due to moving equipment and potential trip and fall hazards. Regularly be exposed to varying temperatures (high and low) and loud noises.
