Our Supervisors are responsible for assisting in the planning and delivery of all relevant scopes of construction works, ensuring safety, environmental and quality standards are met, and works are delivered within the planned timeframe and budget. Supervisors will supervise and co-ordinate resources and activities relevant the delivery of our rail projects, providing effective leadership and sustainable working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
Construction
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective and open communication at all times.
- Provide leadership in risk management, identify and mitigate risks prior to works
- Assist in the review of progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates. Supervise remedial actions as required.
- Develop daily site management reports.
- Arrange deliveries for materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Consult with General Superintendent on schedule, crew logistics and travel, and 4 week lookaheads.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment
- Carry out project risk assessments and risk register
- Carry out workplace and task hazard identification, risk assessments and control.
- Provide general HSQE information and provide basic HSQE
- Facilitate group/work team HSQE discussions and meetings such as toolbox talks and daily job briefings.
- Run daily audits and inspections of equipment, team, and safety compliance.
Leadership
- Ensure our human resources are optimal and relevant to project requirements and advise Superintendent or Foreman on changes required.
- Supervise the onsite performance of workers and sub-contractors, looking for opportunities to coach/mentor and grow capability of our people.
- Performance manage team members not working optimally in accordance with company policy and
- Asset management – ensure all Martinus Rail tools, equipment and plant are maintained and
Edit and approve time entries for crew.
Required:
- Degree in Construction or equivalent experience
Desirable:
- Trade certificate in area that supervising.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in rail construction.
Desirable:
- Experience supervising work crews in a civil construction environment.

- Working knowledge of WorkMax app.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
