One of the largest electrical construction firms in the Philadelphia area, with over 65 years of a proven reputation, is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager from the utility construction field as part of our growth strategy.
Position Overview:
A Senior Project Manager for the utility field provides project leadership for small, medium and large T&D Substation electrical construction projects throughout the region. The Senior Project Manager is a vital aspect of the company, as they are the overseers of leading and managing a team of Project Managers. The ideal candidate is extremely organized and time-management conscious; their responsibilities extend to a broader overview as the Sr. PM manages larger and more complex projects.
Major Job Elements:
- Lead a team of Project Managers to exceed customer expectations.
- Mentor and manage Project Manager team.
- Meet with clients on-site or via telephone.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee pre-construction operations, such as bidding, reviews, and negotiations.
- Plan, monitor, and report on project status data to management.
- Provide feedback and advice to team members.
- Develop project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs.
- Manage deadlines and ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and industry best practices.
- Monitor project financials to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Proactively communicate with team.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent time management skills. People-oriented and can communicate professionally with customers and vendors. Exceptional business understanding, including expenses, profits, and goals. Analytical and organizational skills. Problem-solving skills. Great attention to detail. Proficiency in required management software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects. Strong work ethic. 10 plus years’ experience in the utility electrical field and bachelor’s degree or related business degree
