Job Summary: The Shop Helper plays a vital support role in maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient shop environment. Our shop is dedicated to the repair and upkeep of large asphalt equipment. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals eager to learn the basics of heavy equipment maintenance while performing essential tasks such as cleaning equipment, organizing tools and parts, assisting mechanics and foremen, and ensuring the shop remains safe and operational. The Shop Helper will work under direct supervision and is expected to follow safety protocols, show initiative, and contribute to the overall success of the shop team.

 

Other Requirements: All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test.  References may also be checked. We participate in E-Verify.

 

Job Duties & Requirements:

  • Run parts to and from vendors or job sites as needed
  • Power wash and clean asphalt equipment and shop vehicles
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop
  • Perform basic yard maintenance (sweeping, debris removal, etc.)
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties to support shop operations
  • Participate in various other tasks or projects as assigned by supervisors
  • Always follow safety procedures and promote a culture of workplace safety

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
  • Preference given to candidates with or willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or DOT medical card
  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when uncertain
  • Ability to work outdoors and in a physical environment with exposure to dust, grease, noise, and heavy equipment
