Position Summary
A Material Handler at K2 is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, and equipment to support field operations. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of materials to job sites, maintaining efficiency in project workflows. The Material Handler monitors inventory levels, performs cycle counts, and assists with stock replenishment as needed. They operate forklifts and do safety inspections on operated equipment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and ensuring material traceability. This position requires collaboration with the foreman and material process supervisor.
HIGH PAYOFF ACTIVITES
Material Prepping
Purpose: Ensures a smooth transition and workflow for the crew.
Key Actions:
- Organize and stage materials before the crew arrives.
- Identify priority items for upcoming tasks.
Label and group materials by location or task.
Material and Safety Worksheet
Purpose: Maintains an organized laydown yard and ensures safety protocols are followed.
Key Actions:
- Update and review the worksheet daily.
- Track material usage.
- Document and address safety concerns in the laydown area.
- Inspect all operated machinery. Input inspection in SiteDocs
End of Day Checklist
Purpose: Keeps the material handler prepared and organized for the next day.
Key Actions:
- Secure tools and equipment.
- Clean and organize the laydown area.
Kojo Training and Receiving Material
Purpose: Enhances efficiency in managing materials for top crew performance.
Key Actions:
- Properly receive and log materials using Kojo.
- Track back orders and ensure that they are received.
Daily Material Communication with Leads
Purpose: Ensures next-day readiness and avoids delays.
Key Actions:
- Confirm materials needed for the next day's tasks.
- Communicate any shortages or substitutions.
- Coordinate pallet staging with team leads.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head – all for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work both indoors and out at all times of the year
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 51 pounds unassisted
