South Lake Stone is an active limestone quarry located in Northwest Indiana. South Lake Stone supplies materials to the heavy highway construction industry for public, commercial, and private sector projects. We take pride in safely doing high-quality work.
SUMMARY
Responsible for general management of quarry operation including ensuring safety and environmental compliance, quality standard compliance, strategic planning, asset management and maximizing profitability. Successful candidates will possess strong leadership, technical experience, and the ability to collaborate across departments to increase efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Profit and loss responsibility for 1.5 million tons per year limestone quarry operation.
- Enforce health and safety procedures, ensuring the site is safe for personnel and visitors.
- Strategic planning for quarry development.
- Annual budget and projection development, as well as sales, revenue, and production forecasting.
- Asset management a capital expense planning.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in a crushed limestone mining operation.
- In-depth knowledge of quarry operations, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Strategic planning skills essential to quarry development.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate personnel.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Plant operation and maintenance experience.
