Due to continued growth, we are actively seeking to fill Fire Alarm Technician positions in our Orlando, FL location.  As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for managing daily service calls for a multitude of Fire Alarm systems, repairs, replacements and upgrades. Position will include new project installation and commissioning of the systems. May be asked to do Annual Inspections or support.

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will:

  • Identify fire alarm deficiencies.
  • Possess knowledge of different types of panels and how to access systems for testing or service.
  • Troubleshoot issues on panel to determine which part of the fire alarm system is in need of repair or replacement.
  • Read and use a multi meter properly.
  • Give proper customer service and communication with internal and external customers.
  • Keep up with NICET certifications.
  • Cover on-call hours for servicing customers, including nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience for Fire or Electrical low voltage experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Familiarity with Siemens systems, EST, etc.
  • Travel between customer sites daily
  • Good communication and customer skills.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • NICET certification preferred
  • Fire Alarm System programming preferred
  • BASA FASA certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Familiar with NFPA codes and requirements

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Depending on the customer site, noise level could be quiet (as in a library or public office) or moderate (as in a business office with computers and light traffic)
  • Ability to withstand heights and climb ladders comfortably.
