Position Summary:

Eagle Precast in Kings Mountain is seeking a hands-on leader to oversee day-to-day production at our precast concrete facility. This role is ideal for a production supervisor, leadman, or QC technician with a solid understanding of precast operations who’s ready to take the next step. You’ll be responsible for supervising a small team, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity—while actively participating in daily operations.

This is not a desk job. We are looking for someone who is on the floor, knows how to roll up their sleeves, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily production activities on the floor, ensuring safe and efficient workflows.
  • Oversee yard operations with a hands-on approach, ensuring that the products are properly handled and staged.  Take a proactive role in identifying and addressing issues before they reach QC.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues or bottlenecks on the spot – preventing problems from carrying over into the next day.
  • Oversee concrete pours, finishing, stripping, and staging of precast products.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure all work meets specifications and tolerances.
  • Monitor material usage and communicate supply needs.
  • Coach and guide crew members on best practices and safety compliance.
  • Assist with planning daily schedules and keeping production on track.
  • Identify and solve production issues as they arise.
  • Help implement continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and downtime.
  • Report directly to senior leadership with updates on operations and team performance.

Requirements:

  • Ability to see “the big picture”.
  • Proven experience in a high-pressure, fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete production, form setup, finishing and curing processes. Experience with Precast Concrete a plus.
  • Hands-on leadership style: willing to work alongside the team when needed (ie run the crane, pour the concrete, operate equipment etc).
  • Experience in quality control and understanding of concrete specifications.
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints and understanding production schedules.
  • Natural problem-solver who can make quick decisions in the field.
  • Effective communicator and team motivator.
  • Able to hold team members accountable in a respectful, results-driven way.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years concrete production experience – precast concrete preferred.
  • Knowledge of rebar placement, embeds, lifting hardware, and form prep.
  • Previous experience as a Lead, Foreman, Production Supervisor, or QC Technician preferred.
  • Exposure to DOT / State Highway standards for precast components (ie tolerances, finish requirements etc).
  • Ability to work with batch plant operations – understanding mix consistency, water-cement ratios, additives, and setting times.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful but not required.

Certifications (preferred or must be willing to obtain within 6 – 12 months)

  • OSHA 10-hour Safety Certification (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • ACI Field Testing Technician – Grade 1.
  • NPCA Certified Plant Technician (Preferred).
  • Forklift and/or crane operation certification (preferred).
  • NPCA Master Precaster (a strong plus but not required).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors and in a plant setting with exposure to weather, dust, and machinery.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety boots, gloves, etc.).
  • Able to climb stairs, ladders, and move around large concrete forms and equipment.
