APi National Service Group (APi NSG) is looking for a driven and collaborative individual to join our growing team. This role will involve working closely with target prospective customers, internal stakeholders including the Program Managers, Division/Branch Leaders, and Executive Leadership to win new relationships for our organization in North America. This role requires proficiency in communication, building relationships, strategic thinking, and business acumen.

Job Purpose

The Program Development Consultant role directly supports our core purpose of connecting our sister companies with potential customers, specifically through new sales growth. You will be part of a team that will work cohesively to secure new relationships with potential customers through a variety of service offerings including regional and national fire protection contracts.

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Secure strategic partnerships for regional and national fire protection inspections, maintenance, monitoring, and new construction contracts that benefit APi Group.
  • Evaluate partnership opportunities to ensure strong alignment with company values and long-term business fit.
  • Strategically leverage business experience and knowledge to consult on building new customer programs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to gather necessary information, develop pursuit criteria, and define compelling value propositions.
  • Partner with the pricing specialist to create strategic, tailored pricing strategies and comprehensive program pricing solutions for our proposals.
  • Compile and submit sales proposals (Written and Verbal in a format of RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, informal proposals, and formal presentations), that are driven by the unique value proposition and articulate the strategic partnership support we intend to offer.
  • Attend off-site customer meetings and branch office visits to strengthen relationships and secure new business (travel required).
  • Review, revise, and negotiate customer contracts to ensure favorable terms.
  • Partner with Program Managers to seamlessly onboard new customers, setting teams up for successful execution and long-term partnership.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of professional relationships with customers and across branch offices within the APi organization.
  • Develop and maintain a general knowledge of business processes to speak intelligently and make informed decisions in the best interest of the organization.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the sales process and implement innovative strategies.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and extensive subject matter expertise.
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, consulting, or business strategy.
  • Experience in the fire life safety industry or a similar national service trade industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with analytical and visualization tools, including Excel, Power BI, CRM platforms, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure, demonstrate urgency, and influence outcomes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience engaging both internal and external senior/executive leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships and deliver exceptional customer-focused service.
  • Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter, taking initiative and proactively anticipating needs.
  • Demonstrated competitiveness with a track record of successful negotiations.
  • Excellent prioritization skills; adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly dependable, accurate, and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated growth mindset with a strong willingness and desire to learn, adapt, and pursue continuous professional development.
  • Ability and willingness for out of state travel.

 

Working Conditions

This full-time position is primarily based at our Shoreview, MN office and offers some hybrid work flexibility. Out-of-state travel will be required.

 

Benefits and Compensation

The pay range is $88,300 - $132,300, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Please note that while this range represents the earning potential for the position, most candidates will typically be offered a starting salary in the lower to middle portion of the range.
