Position Overview

The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for safely transporting pavement maintenance materials and equipment to customers and internal job sites throughout the St. Louis metro area, with occasional regional runs. This role is hands-on and requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and operational reliability.

Drivers will operate a variety of commercial vehicles and assist with loading, unloading, and material handling as part of daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Transportation

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles including tractors, dump trucks, and tank trucks
  • Pull a variety of trailers including pneumatics, flatbeds, box vans, and drop decks with tanks
  • Complete local deliveries throughout the St. Louis metro area with some regional runs as needed
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections

Loading, Unloading & Yard Support

  • Load and unload materials using pumps, forklifts, and manual handling
  • Assist with material handling and yard operations as needed
  • Secure loads properly and ensure safe transport of materials

Safety & Customer Service

  • Ensure safety in all aspects of work, following company and DOT regulations
  • Provide professional, customer-focused service during deliveries
  • Communicate effectively with plant, warehouse, and operations teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

  • Work schedules may include Saturdays
  • Perform physical labor including lifting, walking, standing, and working in varying weather conditions

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and dependable work habits
  • CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement
  • Minimum of two (2) years of commercial driving experience
  • Relatively clean motor vehicle record
    • Applicants with drug or alcohol driving offenses in the last three years will not be considered
    • Other violations evaluated per insurance standards
  • Ability to work 40–60 hours per week, including some Saturdays
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork
