We are currently hiring an Accounting & Vendor Risk Analyst — a strategic role that combines accounting expertise, vendor compliance oversight, and business intelligence reporting to drive smarter decision-making across the organization.

Position Overview

The Accounting & Vendor Risk Analyst will assist with core accounting processes and manage Emerson’s vendor risk program while also leveraging Power BI to create dynamic dashboards and reports. This role requires a detail-oriented, tech-savvy individual with a solid foundation in accounting and a proactive mindset toward process improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Utilize Power BI to develop automated dashboards and financial reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Manage coordination between multiple accounting and project management platforms for efficiency.
  • Support month-end close activities.
  • Ensure financial reporting accuracy and GAAP compliance using ERP systems.
  • Manage all vendors across all platforms.
  • Prepare annual 1099 preparation and IRS reporting for subcontractors and vendors.

Vendor Risk & Compliance Management

  • Lead the Vendor Risk Management Program, including:
      • Conducting initial vendor due diligence.
      • Conducting annual vendor risk assessments.
      • Maintaining and updating the Vendor Risk Register.
      • Ensuring contractual & insurance compliance for all subcontractors (e.g., COI tracking and expiration alerts).
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple internal teams to monitor vendor health and enforce compliance standards.
    • Leverage Power BI to track and visualize vendor compliance metrics and risk trends in real time.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in construction or a related industry.
    • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Oracle).
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, modeling) and working knowledge of Power BI.
    • Experience in vendor risk management, AP processing, and 1099 compliance.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and a mindset for continuous improvement.
