Richard Design Services (RDS) is currently seeking experienced Level II & III Piping Designers. Richard Design Services, Inc. is a full service Engineering, Procurement and Construction company focused on delivering capital projects in the renewable fuels, petrochemical and petroleum industries.   Our range or services include engineering studies, front end projects, detailed engineering and design, and turnkey EPC/CM projects.   Our team can perform complex revamps as well as grassroots projects.  We are seeking responsible skilled and motivated Mid-Level/Senior-Level piping designers to be part of our team at our Houston Westchase office.  The position will report to our Houston Office Piping Department Manager.

Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled and motivated Mid-Level/Senior-Level Piping Designers to be part of our team at our Houston Westchase office.  The position will report to our Houston Office Piping Department Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Participate in the development of a wide range of projects (Front End Studies, Front End Engineering Development and Detailed Engineering)
• Analyze problems and take appropriate design actions to ensure project meets client expectations
• Develop equipment layouts, plot layouts, etc.
• Development of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and associated documents in conjunction with Process Engineers
• Coordination with mechanical / piping engineers with respect to piping specifications, metallurgy, stress analysis, etc.  Incorporating the feedback in the design
• Experienced with field design activities including, but not limited to evaluations, equipment and piping layouts. Building of existing conditions, coordination of laser scans, piping tie-ins, etc.
• Experienced in development of Material Take-Offs for estimating purposes, as well as support requisitioning of bulks
• Skilled in the development of: piping deliverables, including but not limited to plot plans, equipment arrangement drawings, isometrics, bills of materials, tie-in packages, demolition packages, construction packages, etc.   Utilizing 2D modeling and 3D modeling platforms
• May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers
• Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review
• Coordination and Interfacing with engineering and design disciplines in the development of projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate Degree or Technical Training preferred
• Experience
  Piping Designer II   5+ years' experience
  Piping Designer III  10+ years' experience
• Familiarity with industry codes and practices
• Skilled in 2D design (Autocad)
• Skilled in 3D Design (Cadworks)
• Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal, and Written)
• Work well in a Team environment
• Judgment and Decision Making
• Strong desire to learn
• Leadership skills

Work Environment:
• Work performed will generally be in an office environment.  Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, etc.  Employee shall be physically capable of performing the required tasks.  Field visits to Client facilities may be required.  Employee should be of sound physical health Travel, performance of field verifications and assessments, attending meetings at Client facilities or other locations, etc. may be required in the performance of their duties.
