Job Title: Entry-Level HVAC Controls Design Engineer

Job Summary:
Growing, industry leading company if seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level HVAC Controls Design Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will support the design and development of control systems for commercial and industrial HVAC applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their engineering career to gain hands-on experience in building automation and controls with guidance from senior engineers.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in designing control systems for HVAC equipment, including control schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Learn to write and develop sequences of operation for various HVAC systems.
- Support the preparation of submittals, documentation, and equipment selections.
- Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and field technicians to understand project requirements and ensure successful implementation.
- Participate in site visits and assist in system commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Gain experience with building automation platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or similar systems.
- Stay current with industry standards, trends, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong interest in HVAC systems, controls, and automation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting/design software (school or internship experience is acceptable).
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Nice to Have (But Not Required):
- Internship or co-op experience in HVAC, controls, or related fields, or 1-3 years Direct Digital Controls design experience.
- Exposure to control system protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON).
- Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, or other design tools.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency or sustainable building practices.
