Buyer
ROLE:
Responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, services, and equipment essential for foundry operations. The buyer will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, control cost, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials. Additionally, the buyer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with production needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders.
- Assess quotations from vendors based on requirements, pricing, performance, and payment terms.
- Review and approve new materials for the stockroom.
- Review obsolete or slow moving inventory.
- Collaborate with suppliers regularly on product improvement on alternative supplies.
- Communicate with Engineers, Management, and Suppliers.
- Maintain and track past due purchase orders within SAP to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage stockroom operations and central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
- Work directly with accounts payable and reconciliation of company credit card.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.
- Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of storeroom.
- Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
- Designs, implements, manages, and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in business, supply chain or engineering.
- Two to Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer skills, which include all Microsoft programs and knowledge of SAP accounting software.
- Possess and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible work schedule for shift and department mobility.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently to plan and organize daily tasks.
