Account Manager – Air Distribution

A growing Air Distribution Department is seeking a results-driven Account Manager to join the team. This role is essential in driving business growth by meeting defined sales targets, building long-term customer relationships, and maximizing account penetration and retention.

Base compensation commensurate with experience, with uncapped commission plan. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Sales Growth:
    Develop and execute action plans to increase market penetration through existing accounts and by identifying and engaging new customers.
  • Build Relationships:
    Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within customer organizations, including estimators, project managers, engineers, purchasing agents, and executives.
  • Project Estimation & Proposal Development:
    Prepare detailed project take-offs, including estimates and formal proposals. Present and validate offerings with customers to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Close Opportunities:
    Proactively follow up with decision-makers and influencers to secure work and achieve assigned sales quotas.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy:
    Gather and analyze market data to inform strategic decisions that enhance sales opportunities and expand market share.
  • Cross-Functional Communication:
    Maintain proactive communication with internal teams, including sales engineers and other key stakeholders, to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent industry experience—particularly in HVAC or sheet metal—will be considered, especially for candidates transitioning from technical roles into sales.
  • Industry Experience:
    Prior experience in mechanical airflow products, HVAC systems, or related building materials is preferred.
  • Sales Acumen:
    Proven ability to design and execute effective sales strategies is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to navigate and learn internal systems as required.
