SERVICE CENTER MECHANIC
The primary role of Service Center Mechanic is to repair and maintain a variety of construction equipment; including, but not limited to; power tools, generators, trucks, forklifts, trailers, concrete equipment, etc. You will be working on diesel, gas, and electric engines in this role. This role must also be prepared to perform unscheduled maintenance. Additional duties may be required at times, see below.
This position includes tooling and uniform onsite.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of mechanical experience
- 2-4 Previous work on diesel equipment, small engines, and miscellaneous construction equipment
Preferred
- Vocational Training and/or shop experience
- Bilingual with the ability to communicate in both Spanish and English (if needed)
- 4-7 years of work on diesel equipment, small engines and miscellaneous construction equipment
- Background with Telehandlers / heavy equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Mechanical Operations
- Ability to inspect and diagnose engine, mechanical, and electrical issues accurately
- Repair and maintain variety of tools and equipment
- All types of construction equipment including diesel / small / electric engines.
- Work closely with ordering team to ensure all equipment needed on jobsites is ready in a timely manner
- Strong time management skills
- Strongly adhere to all best-in-class safety practices, both documented and implied
- Ability to be proficient with an online work order system
- Ability to find creative low-cost solutions to fixing older equipment
Other Duties as assigned
- Participate as an active member of the Six Side Supply team. Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to align efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position involves standing for a period of time and sitting to complete desk work. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base hourly rate for this position is $25 to $30/hr, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final rate will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future growth.
