Position Summary:
We're seeking a skilled and dependable Lowboy Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience hauling heavy equipment using lowboy trailers and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Job Location: Bay County, FL and surrounding counties
Job Type: Full Time, Expected hours: No less than 40 hours per week
Manages Others: No
Key Responsibilites:
- Safely operate lowboy trucks to transport heavy equipment to job sites, work independently and expected to maintain a schedule of work.
- Must-be experienced in Heavy Equipment Operation; graders, bull dozers, dump trucks, front end loaders and rollers.
- Regular and peripheral vision abilities have to be sharp for him/her to be aware of other trucks and of the heavy equipment that frequently surrounds him/her at job sites.
- Truck driver must know and follow safety regulations of the company and the general safety laws as well and adhere to them. Must be able to secure loads according to DOT regulations.
- Have good communication skills to clearly communicate with equipment operators and other truck drivers to make sure deliveries are according to the job specifications and timetables.
Work Environment
- Willingness to work out doors under varying climatic conditions and work overtime on an extended shift of off-hours as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots
- Ability to frequently enter and exit the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground
- Able to sit in the driver’s seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals, switches, levers, buttons, etc. required to safely operate the truck
- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others.
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand English is mandatory.
- The employee must have the ability to see with close and distant vision
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating lowboy trailers
- Age 25 or older
- Medical card or ability to get one
